Module 1: Introduction of SCADA-UPS

SCADA? An Introduction.
Key Functions of a SCADA System
SCADA System Architecture

Module 2: PANEL EARTHING

Objective of Earthing
Instrument: For Earthing, Voltage and Current Measurement
Procedure: Earthing Resistance Measurement
Criteria: Standardizing electrical system safety and efficiency.

Module 3:PLC SYSYTEM CONFIGURATION

Objective: To Configure & verify System configuration
Reference: As built PLC System Configuration/ Networking Diagram
Procedure: Visually check the Processor & I/O’s are connected as per As-built System architecture
Visually check the availability of all components of the network.
Criteria: connectivity of these items are in accordance with the As built
system architecture.

Module 4: POWER SUPPLY CHECK

Objective of Power Check: To ensure that the Control Panel is powered in normal conditions and the Control panel delivers
interrogation voltage in conformity with the design
Reference: Internal wiring as per Design diagram
Procedure: Measure the voltage of incoming power supplies
Measure the voltage of power supplies generated inside the Panel.
Criteria: The incoming voltage is matching the value indicated in the internal wiring diagram with in
tolerance.

Module 5:PLC START-UP

Objective: To ensure that PLC automatically boots up from power off to normal operation.
Procedure :Power-on the system as a whole.
Observe the Power. OK and the Run LED’s on the Power Supply are on
Power off the PLC
Power on the PLC again
Cerateria : The PLC goes to Run mode
Observe that the Power OK and the Run LED’s on the Power supply & CPU come on without any
interruption.

Module 6:PLC COMMUNICATION TESTING

Procedure: To verify the:
1. Correct operation of the PLC programming port
2.Starting / Stopping of PLC from the program terminal.
It is not related to the PLC program.

Procedure to verified: 1.Connect the programming terminal to the programming port of the PLC
2. Force I/O from the programming terminal
Running state of the CPU changes when forced romp the programing terminal.

Module 7:PROCESSOR MEMORY RETENTION

Outline: The PLC processor is provided with retentive memory, so that in case of power supply fail, the
program and register contents are retained in the CPU
Objective: The purpose of this test is to verify that in spite of failure of the power supply of CPU program is
retained in the CPU.
Procedure: 1. Download program in PLC processor
2. Switch OFF the power supply of main PLC rack and wait for 1 minutes
3. Switch ON the power supply of CPU
4. Check with programming station that CPU has retained program last downloaded to it.
Criteria: should retain the last downloaded program.

Module 8: PROCESSOR BACKUP FUNCTION TEST

Outline: The program & configuration in the PLC processor can be backed up into the PLC programmer
package
Objective: The purpose of this functionality test is to verify the procedure for backing up of the PLC program
& configuration's
Procedure: 1. Download program in PLC processor
2. Connect to the CPU through the programming terminal
3. Through programming package tool perform the backing up of the program and the
configuration
Criteria: The programing terminal shall show that the configuration and the Software in the
programming terminal & the PLC is matching /equal.

Module 9 : PLC SOFTWARE FUNCTIONALITY TEST

Objective: To verify that the tag name and corresponding PLC internal IP address is correct
Procedure: Check the SCADA by simulating the field devices.

Final: EXECUTION AND REVIEW

Objective to Checkout: Verified and Tested SCADA Protocols, Data Handling, and Alarming.
Observation: Any critical observations regarding the behavior of the electrical system?
